February 19, 2004blogging bibliographyTwo people have recently asked me for a blogging bibliography. There are a handful of articles that i regularly suggest to people, but i have a feeling that people might have far more comprehensive bibliographies out there, or other materials that they think should be shared in a classroom/research setting. Thus, i thought i'd ask you. What are the key academic papers, blog entries and media writings on blogging, particularly on the social analysis of the phenomena? [Also, any links to blog bibliographies out there.] Category: Posted by zephoria at February 19, 2004 6:15 PM

Lisbeth Klastrup recently posted a list. As she notes, many of the papers from Blogtalk are around. There were more than a dozen papers on blogging presented at AIR this year, in 4 devoted sessions and scattered in other sessions. Nick Olejniczak's syllabus for a class on blogging also collects some interesting readings, some of which you already list.
Oh, and I hear this paper (pdf) is pure brilliance.

Hello again!
Would you know who wrote "Why I Hate Personal Weblogs?"
Thanks!

I have been looking at on-line bibliographical/citation software recently - haven't found what i am looking for - but it makes me think that we should collaborate on building a collaborative one around blogging - has anyone any ideas?

I put together a little presentation for a journalism class called "Blogs: The People's Media" - barely scratching the surface, but not a bad overview. Feel free to borrow and steal.

I've written two articles on social software and e-learning. The first one discusses blogging and e-learning. It's at http://www.learningcircuits.org/2003/dec2003/kaplan.htm.
Hope this helps.
