fuck SMS.ac

I have zero tolerance for company bullshit and threats. First, SMS.ac had all of my friends spam the hell out of me with their scam-like service (most of whom apologized immediately afterwards). Now they’re sending cease and desist letters to friends who apologized publicly, calling this defamatory. It’s not defamatory – it’s an apology for inappropriate social behavior brought on by autistic software. SMS.ac’s C&D is uncool, inappropriate and a complete abuse of the legal system to threaten people into submission. I was annoyed before, now i’m outright pissed.

    Well, shit, I have been using SMS now, for not to long to send messages to my friends in Canada, I only used it 2 times, now I saw this… Im going to delete my account, but will this anger them and charge me… lol, I signed up long time ago, and then i was getting this message from my friend to sign up, so i did, but it was like you are already sign up.. I guess I was in before they asked for my hotmail info.. I live in Austria. Should I just delete my account, I was just going to change my profile, and put it on hide profile, and never use it again!?!, fuck, if they charge my cell phone I will be angry, they state I get free sms 8 a day or some shit, I have not use it at all, but I added a few of my friends, then It send me a message that they agreed,will it charge me for those? Now Im angry!

    Please PLEASE tell me HOW I can stop this shite SMS AC?! I keep getting crap on my mobile, with a message ‘if you want to stop this, send “STOP”to 3111. When I do, I get an sms back asking me to CHECK SPELLING!! AS IF I will send another sms to them..?!?!?! Thats what they want right?

    Tried going to http://www.sms.ac – the page is not active any more!!

    SO WHAT THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET RID OF THE WANKERS?!?!?!

    Ironically, Ive never sent ANY sms’s through their service, I just signed up so that my friend could free sms me — he never did either. So all this trouble over NOTHING. I must be in hell.

    Hey everybody… if someone out there has a high traffic site (porn, jokes whatever), maybe you can get even with sms.ac by linking to small images on the sms.ac server.

    For instance load this image multiple times by adding extra parameter after url like this:

    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?0
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?1
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?2
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?3
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?4
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?5
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?6
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?7
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?8
    http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?9

    All in all it should be something like this:
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?0″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?1″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?2″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?3″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?4″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?5″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?6″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?7″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?8″ style=”display:none”>
    <IMG SRC=”http://www.sms.ac/registration/images/slice_05.jpg?9″ style=”display:none”>

    Anybody else got some nice ideas to fuck them up?

  6. Salsero

    I hate spammers, SMS.ac should be shut down. And guys for *** sake do not post your real emails here, you could be spammed easily, anyone can collect the email adresses on this page and add it to a database. Besides, never believe “send us an email and we will remove you from the list”, it is bullshut and only intended so that the spammers gets confirmation that your emal is working.

    BTW: IAmNotGonnaGiveoutMyAdress@fucksms.ac is not my email.

  7. knokkels

    And another dutchie calling..

    Damn those fraudulent bastards.
    I used to be registered there, cancelled my registration on the site it.

    A friend of mine went there as well, and sure enough it starts all over again. So any help in getting rid of these asses, would be greatly appreciated.

    High time the dutch government would pay more attention in banning these scammers.
    (If that’s in any way possible ofcourse)

  8. retika

    Goddamn,

    Really quite happy I have never signed in for this crap!

    I am getting bombed with emails with, up to the 4th request… driving me craze….

    Isn’t there any way to stop this spam?

  9. Athene

    Im getting that shit too, but not only from friends and family, but from people I have absolutely no idea who are, too…

  10. Jimmy

    To cancel, you need to log onto your account via the web. My sister managed to get her money back that way as well (but not everyone is so lucky).
    To stop repeated requests to join, click the link in the email which says “I don’t want to receive anymore requests” (or something similar).
    By the way, nice logo – actually I borrowed it for my blog entry on SMSac. Hope you don’t mind.

  11. Seth

    I have never signed up, but someone added me to the list or something. I get SMS-es every day… So I contacted them, they promise to blacklist my number, but they don’t. The person I speak to is named Randy George: Randy George [rgeorge@corp.sms.ac]. Maybe more of you can contact him. I also reported them to my local Telecom Authority to blacklist them here in Holland. They seem to go all over the world with this. If someone would like to start legal action, I am willing to participate and donate money. If we all donate a 10er through PayPal, some laywer might wanna start a case 😉

    I’ve also very annoyed with sms.ac . They’ve cancelled my account, saying that I had “inappropriate photos”. It was a normal photo of me, not porno. I’ve asked them to re-open my account. In answer, I’ve only got silence. Also I’ve investigate and so far I’ve found more than 35 users with porno photos that are there for more than 1, 2 or 4 months. I’ve asked again to re-open my account, I didn’t had any porno photo, and nothing. I so angry with them. If you all want, here is a list of several eMails of sms.ac.

  17. Mouse Anony

    Vodafone user in the UK.

    I received an inivitation to join sms.ac from a friend with a very unusual name so I went though the sign on thinking that the invitation was authentic. Then it asked me for my hotmail account details…. and an alarm went off in my head so I didn’t provide the password…. Thankgod I didn’t !! They sound like a bunch of spamming ripoff bastards. I immediately deleted the account and sent ‘STOP ALL’ to 62468.

    I will be watching carefully to see if I get any charges on my bill.

    I can’t understand how these guys are still trading with these horrendous practices?

  18. Jack

    Vodafone user in Australia

    Just checked with Vodafone and found out I have been charged for smses that came to my mobile. Each msg was charged $0.55. This is crap! The way to stop is to send an SMS ‘STOP ALL’ to 19976722 for Australia users.

  19. jaggy

    heh. I have the same thing, sent spam SMS every day charged for them! All they say is “retard wants to be your friend. Click here”
    They also send spam email to all your friends, and actually contacting anyone to tell them you’re getting spam is impossible. Oh yeah, and I got spam even though I “unsubscribed”. How convenient. You can block them. Or read scary stories about them at http://www.ripoffreport.com

  20. tee

    I signed up to this but gave them a DIFFERENT password – it still got into my yahoo account and spammed everyone in the address book. How does it do this? Someone has to shut this scam down.

  21. GoNzY

    Hi

    I also hate sms.ac, I tried to delete my account, but I can’t logg in!They then tell me that they can send me my password, so I try that option, but they don’t send me anything!FUCKERS!!It’s very frustrating! I’m from Holland, so I tried to sms STOP ALL to 31111, I hope this will work!! Does anybody know what else I could do? I hope you can help me! Cause I can use my money for better things than this!! FUCK SMS.AC!!!!! AAAAAAARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH
    If you can help me, please send an e-mail to :
    laurafriends4_ever@hotmail.com

    I’m currently in Oz at the moment and a few days ago these stupid mystic txt msg’s started coming through on my phone, didn’t have a clue what they were and decied to ignore them thinking one of my mates was arsing aabout. Then following few days I’m still getting them and whats worse is I then get heaps of txt msg’s saying insufficient funds and that I can’t recieve txt’s! All my credit had been used the the twats that are sending the stupid things and I have never even heard of them, gave any info out or been to any website so how the hell did I get sucked into their shitty little con trap???????? And can anyone tell me why any intelligent human being would waste money to sign up for that pile of shit to be sent to their phone anyway? WHAT A LOAD OF BALLS!!!

  23. angry

    My girlfriend just got an “invitation to sms.ac” from her brother. Only, her brother committed suicide a few months ago.

    The bastards. If I could get my hands on them…

  24. happy

    Just today my friend was complaining bitterly about SMS.ac services and how he feels ripped off because it’s eating away his mobile phone credit.

    However, being the contrary character I am, I took the opposite tack and defended the service.

    I use sms.ac and I’m quite happy with the service. The pricing is explained, and I just sent STOP FRND to 19976722 to stop those annoying 55 cent “X is inviting you to be his friend” messages.

    I figure if I’ve used sms.ac to send 20 messages so far, that’s saved me $5.00, and I’ve probably been charged a few bucks for the annoying Premium Message services that I didn’t want, so I’m not complaining.

    And think of all the people this service has brought together (including you guys complaining about it!! 😉

    My advice?

    Go to the MESSAGES tab and select Message Preferences and turn OFF ALL the SMS notifications to save those 55c PREMIUM message costs. You can still manage your profile on-line.

    Go to EMAIL PREFERENCES and say NO to e-mails to stop spam.

    Don’t send more than five (5) messages per day so that it’s free.

    Send STOP ALL to 19976722 if you want to STOP ALL messages!

  25. Not Important

    Strange place and very detailed advice from “Happy”. Is this person related to sms.ac somehow? Hmmmmmm

  26. Rohan

    I got a couple of these email invites from an old school friend I haven’t seen in years… I got suspicios when it asked me for my hotmail password. I wrote about it in some detail on another forum:
    http://www.perthbands.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19362

    I got an email from them a couple of hours later titled ‘Rohan, where did you go?’ It wanted me to complete my registraion… persistent little fuckers.

  27. Jerk finder

    From Zabasearch, i found some public information that shows the jerk president of SMS.AC’s home address! HAHA! It is all legal and public information. Go to Zabasearch and type in Michael Pousti yourself.

    It seems Mr. Pousti is a Muslim Iraqi of some sort.

    If you get the runaround, maybe sending a message directly the president may get you heard.

  28. Peter

    I’m an O2 user in the UK. I’ve deleted my account over a week now and i still get invitations from ‘friends’… charging me… The sms.ac bastards should get legal actions against them by someone…

  29. Per Prest

  31. Mary

    I have a treo 600 phone and i have been receiving blank text messages from 57413. I am assuming this has something to do with sms.ac even though I have never signed up with them. Now my phone does not work at all. It is a month old and it cuts off every time I try to text message someone or call. I am assuming it has to do with sms.ac because I researched and 57413 is the US code for Verizon phones. Has anyone had this problem with sms.ac and if so, what can I do?

  32. Chloe

    Fuck me these guys are little shits….they need sorting out man…..they are just corrupted little twats that have enough free time on their hands to bug everyone and cost everyone money.
    Someone please sue them so I dont have to.

  34. Melody

    If you want to get rid of the messages, you log in and cancel account manually. Then on your cell phone, you reply to the fucking number that keeps spamming you sms with “Stop all messages” I think the number is different for people..so just reply to whatever shows up on your cell phone.

  35. B

    i’ve signed up by sms invitation, but I didn’t know how irritable it was! HOW can I stop it?! PLEASE HELP! You can’t answer stop frnd and you can’t also answer STOP ALL to 54173!!!!!!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO ?! I BECAME CRAZY !!!,

    I’m waiting for an answer (A)…

    B.

  36. Safin

    Guys, first go into Message Preferences of SMS.ac and make sure you disabled any of the annoying services they have.

    If you still get charged, then, kick them in the butt.

  37. stay away from it!!!!!

    EVERYBODY THAT DOESNT KNOW HOW TO ERASE YOUR ACCOUNT, JUST REPLY “STOP ALL” TO THE SAME NUMBER THAT YOU GET THOSE ANOYING FAKE FRIENDS REQUESTS.

    DO IT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE..

  38. Ed

    how do I stop them inviting my contacts.
    I have never used the SMS.ac thing and I have even cancelled my mobile phone as I have moved abroad.
    A business contact periodically gets sent these invites (I assume more are getting them but have not mentioned it to me). I have even deleted him from the contacts list but that obviously did not work.
    I may be in trouble as I neither know my account number or have the original mobile number in use.

  39. Paul

    bunch of tossers, that pousti needs his balls pulled off

    my advice is if youve been fooled into this, get out asap, change your email login details, and if your getting the texts reply to them with ‘STOP ALL’

  40. Ozzy guy

    Wow.. I remember half-signing up to this service months ago.. well, not even really signing up.. Got an invite from friend overseas.. checked it out and didnt put in any hotmail details. For some time now I have been receiving phone bills with “small” amounts of extra charges without explanation of where they are from… Vodafone online phonebill notified me today which are the extras and surprise surprise all those “Dipshit wants to be your friend” messages have been costing me money despite never actually signing up to receive them.. I remember abandoning the signup when asked for my hotmail details.. Anyway, for those in Australia, the solution is sending “STOP ALL” to 19976722

    G’luck

  41. caleb Carstensen

    Can’t see that well to read all that but,
    the question I want answered is can i send a free sms without having to fill in regestration forms?

  42. Beau Bradbeer

    I signed up through a mate for the free sms’s they were offering on sms.ac, although I never ended up using it. But all of a sudden about 3 weeks ago I started getting like 3 and 4 msgs a day on my phone from people who wanted to be my ‘friend’ though sms.ac. Not only was it a pain in the butt, but I just got my bill and the bastards have chagred me $6 for it!!! WTF!!!! That’s absolute bullshit. I’m so angry, and the worst thing is, you can’t unsubscribe or get your details taken off it!!!
    I’m in Australia too- so it’s not just a US/Canada thing.

    Not happy!!

  43. Scammed

    I signed up with sms.ac like over a year ago..and just recently, i’ve been getting charged for those retarded “lets be friends” msgs. I didn’t think it mattered, and tried bearing with the 2-4 txts i got a day, but apparently, rogers charges for the web traffic, it charges you, even if they aren’t the ones sending (and are just receiving).

    I got billed $14.00 by Rogers today. I’m from Toronto. Rogers can’t do anything to help you. They suggest going to the link and unsubscribing. I don’t think it worked. I would suggest using the “STOPALL” and sending it back to the # they use to send you. Mine was 767225

    Thanks for all the help above.

    I can’t believe i got scammed. Oh well, lesson learned the hard way.
