Hi danah,

My friend Demetri (who just so happens to be my MySpace “case study”) told me about this conference last night. When he said, “there’s a woman who’s an expert on online social networking speaking,” I guessed it was you. If you wanna, I know the best (and cheapest!) Indian place in town.

Also, I wrote the first three pages of my thesis yesterday! Hibernation is imminent; I fear for my sanity.

1. Cuz I committed to the academic conferences when I thought I was going on the job market and I feel responsible to come through.
2. Cuz the non-public talks will pay my rent for a few months so that I can write.
3. Cuz in-between includes my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary, my brother’s birthday, a trip to Berkman.
4. Cuz I’d rather pack it into one month than spread it out over a longer period.
