Plain and simple – what Natalie said was WRONG!! regardless of your political views – when you country is going to war and people are dying – you may not slam the president on stage!! Natalie, we love you voice and your songs, but please stop telling me how to think!! I do love teh “Shut up And Sing” – great song – great words – but honey, when people are shooting at you – the last thing you want to hear is someone telling you that your big boss is wrong!! Look at it from my point of view!! I have to Shut Up And Shoot!!!

I wish these chicks would stick to what they know, which is music. I think their comments were inappropriate. They are singers, not politicians. I would love to hear anything they have to say about subjects that pertain to their profession. Otherwise, I do not find their comments newsworthy. Unfortunately, the inappropriate, rude, ignorant behavior they have displayed since the incident have turned a lot of former fans (including me) off and it has hurt their pocket books.

Ok…
As it has been stated so many times before…we live in America where “freedom” is so often used in the government. Having Freedom of this and freedom of that and so on, yet the very first time a celebrity goes out of their way to express their freedom of speech they instantly get bashed on.

Who cares what they said about the president…everyone has their own oppinion.
The only skeptic thing that should determine weather
or not they are listened to is each listeners oppinion on
their artistic music ability….

I’m mean come on, in our every day life, we have people of all sorts walking amongst us and there are so many that have such a strong ability to do one specific thing. And hell, lets face it… the Dixie Chicks are amazing and I’m not saying I agree or disagree with what they said, but they had every right to say it…

If you hate their MUSIC well thats just dandy…
If you USED to enjoy their music but boycotted after the Freedom of Speech situation, then yes I do agree..you need to grow up and honestly I don’t care if you say it’s the “principle” of it,
because the only principle is that they have the freedom to say what they want and frankly i agree with the statement said many times before: if any everyday person would have said what maine said they would have been given a funny look and life would have gone on…but no one celebrity and the world makes ruckus out of it….
If you liked their music then and do to this very day weather you agreed or disagreed with what they had to say.. then you are what America should be about.

One of my friends was completly against what they had said, I made them listen to one of the Dixie Chicks songs and every since that day the Dixie Chicks have been her favorite musical artists.

The statement shouldn’t determine weather you listen to them or not.

I really enjoy the like the dixie chicks
Especially their single Landslide which was released in 2003. I loved it then.

Kevin, I’m sure you feel the same way about conservative celebrities, right? It doesn’t make a difference where Natalie said what she did – free speech is an international right that all democratic countries uphold. Believe me, she’s not the only individual who is intelligent enough to observe the mess President Bush and his team has caused for the world community.

Sorry Kevin, but I am not obligated to like my leaders or their policies.

But it is so good to see you are a freethinker, seeing that you have stolen a line from a celebrity and made it your own.

The Dixie Chicks were never one of my favorite groups but after making the statement about their president while performing in a foreign country they totally fell off the table. Natalie was always the fat little mouthy one of the group and she didn’t think disparaging her country or its leader in front of a crowd of foreigners would bit her in her ample ass and it did. Maybe she, like all entertainers, should just shut the hell up and practice their professions and stop trying to tell us what to think or thinking that we give a damn about what they think off the stage.

Maybe Maines should have been a world leader instead of a pseudo-intellectual skirt behind a microphone. I am sure a woman of her obvious intellectual might can find employment in either the cleaning or food service industries.

I really like the song, and don’t give a damn if it’s about what Maines said. It’s still a good song. I actually, in a way, fits a current situation I’m in. The CD is awesome!

I am a canadian, not a huge fan of country music, but i do think that this song shows that not all americans are ignorant to the devistation George Bush is causing for the world as a whole, not only his own country. I fully disagree with the way George is conducting himself as president. I have relatives that live in the USA and its almost like they are brain washed. In my opinion we are dealing with another Hitler, what the USA is doing is genocide and its not right.

Why would you care if people purchase music based on the words in their music? Hello???? why don’t you appreicate your freedom of expression in America? Good God..are American’s growing that boring and expressionless? You surely are.

I have always appreciated the Dixie Chicks music and find it amazing that all of you out there are angry at them and don’t see how pathetic you are. Their artists for Godsake. If you don’t like their music…fine…if you do…good for you.

You shallow Americans..very disappointing when I so look up to your culture.
