I remember meeting that story on a cold autumn day: was supposed to be studing organic chemistry, but instead, i read that story. It was real cold like it is today here in new jersey. I felt rejected amongst the cold leaves that littered the cobblestone grey. It was a moment below georgetown arches as excorsist moments happened by a roadside parking meter.

If I recall my history, I think this (or an element or two from it) was made into one act or a scene in a PBS production of a Vonnegut “Between Time and Timbuktu” teleplay. If I remember my Vonnegutian history, it aired in, like, 1970 or 71?

There was a movie version of the story(w/ sean austin i think). Pales in comparsion to the written version.

you know there is a teleplay of this story. the first time Harrison Bergeron entered my life was in 3rd or 4th grade, it was a transcription of this very teleplay complete with stills that introduced me to the world of Vonnegut. my folks had quite a few questions to answer.
